Well folks it appears that I finally got the address and passwords correct and now I can actually put in an entry into my LJ after close to a year away!
Where to start well let us start with my current situations and go from there. On Tuesday I and my Boss drove to a remote site located on the borders of Virginia and North Carolina to rewire some of the network cables. The day was overcast yet dry and my car and I were fit and happy, though my boss was a bit worried about some of the items on the list that had to be done while at the site. The drive took all of two hours to complete and the site was ready for the great deal of work we had to do except for one thing. The site had lost its ladder and only had one that was used by the pressmen to help them climb around the press when fixing this or that, my boss grabbed the ladder and we started the rewiring. Let me fill in some information for those that have never seem a pressmen’s ladder, it is covered with ink from top to bottom and usually it is heavier than a full size family van, so moving it with your hands only is not an option.
On with the tale…My boss manages the ladder into the area we are going to rewire with only a few ink stains and hands that were covered with black ink, I knowing I was not dressed for an inking stayed back and feed new cables to my boss and took the old ones from him letting him be on the ladder sorting through cables and such. We finish that business and start the second part of the project which is the testing and retesting of the cables and such. Lunch is had some where within this time but it is not important as nothing happened to us while eating besides being full from a good meal. We finish the project and after washing hands we load up the old equipment and make ready to leave the site, my boss is covered in the front with black ink but knowing that it is on the front of his pants I worried not about getting any in my new car.
I and my boss have a nice drive back to my boss’s office so I can drop him off and continue on my merry way to Lynchburg, talking and making plans for the next bit of work that will be needed at other sites. I pull up to the back of the office and watch as my boss exits the car. I see almost instantly that my boss has a big problem and realization takes hold and I see it is now my problem also, my boss’s bottom is covered in blue ink, and so is my passenger seat!
Now as I mentioned before my boss had black ink on his pants, not red, nor brown, or even pink but black, so I think quickly where in the hell did blue ink come into contact with my boss’s rear and my seat? Well the answer is not nor will it ever be known as my boss knows there was no blue on the ladder and I know there was no pens in the seat so I guess some divine or demonic being (They keep popping up it seems!) must have dropped some into the sit or my boss’s backside in the grand scheme of things. Either way my boss’s pants are ruined and so it appears is my car seat, which now has a form of soy bean oil ink that does not dry! The company will reimburse me for the expenses for the seat though I do not think that I can get the stain out nor can I get the ink to stop transferring onto what or who ever sits in that seat, so it looks like I shall be having to get a new seat for my new car!
Stay tuned as the next entry will be about the some of the experiences that I had on my vacation to Ohio to Origins (Which Rocked!!), I have three dozen stories and all will leave you with either a bad taste in your mouth or laughing so hard you can not stop.
Till then you all take care and may the ink beast never visit any car that you own!
